报告题目: A Distorted Normal Model for the Gene Expression Data

Abstract:
This talk presents a new distribution we discovered after studying the gene expression data resulting from biological experiments using Affymetrix GeneChip Microarrays.
In particular, we will study patterns of some high-throughput gene expression datasets resulting from experiments on the study of blood stem cell. Then, we propose a distorted normal distribution to model and to characterize the gene expression data. Theoretical properties of the proposed distorted normal model will be studied as well.
